- While his brother Marcos first raced the Dakar back in 2013, Cristian Baumgart only has two Dakar on the scoreboard so far, from when he raced an SSV in 2019 and finished 9th in class.
- He is however, like his brother, an accomplished off-road competitor who has won the Rally dos Sertoes four times (out of 24 participations) as well as being three times Mitsubishi Cup champion and two times Brazilian Cross Country Vice Champion.
- As a warm up to their 2024 W2RC campaign, Cristian and his faithful co-driver Alberto Andreotti finished 7th on the 2023 Sonora Rally, and 19th T1+ on the Rallye du Maroc, all aboard their X Rally Team run Prodrive Hunter.
- From 2025, Baumgart’s brothers joined the fresh new Toyota team SVR for their second W2RC 2026 season.
