Maré started riding as soon as the age of 4 and rapidly fell in love with motocross. His talent took him from his native South Africa to the FIM Junior World championship and then to the United States where he competed in the AMA outdoor nationals. He then moved to Dubai where he discovered desert racing in 2016. His career highlights include podiums and wins at the UAE Baja Championship, Dubai International Baja, and Emirates Desert Championship. He also won the Desert Storm Rally 2019 in Jaisalmer, India. Aaron participated with the HRC team in a supporting role in the Cross-Country Rallies events in Chile and Morocco in 2019, involved in private training in the build-up to the 2020 Dakar where he was a former member of the officiel Monster Energy Honda Team line-up for what was his very first Dakar, opening in Saudi. Based in Dubai, he perfectly knew the terrain of the third Dakar chapter and that’s probably one of the reasons Honda went for the promising young man. But the first stage was his only experience. Aaron crashed and came back two years later. Still as a factory rider, but alongside of Joachim Rodrigues for the Hero MotoSports team as a last-minute replacement for injured Franco Caimi. Having performed consistently throughout, Aaron securing 15th place in the overall standings of the RallyGP class. Two years later, history repeated itself when an injured Sebastien Buhler was unable to start the race. Aaron brought home a historic win for the brand, grabbing the first Hero W2RC victory. The South African is a good luck charm for Wolfgang Fisher, whose first W2RC debut in 2022 saw him take part in a historic race, the one that saw the brand's first stage win by Joachim Rodrigues. Aaron came to Hero as a substitute, now has become a legend for the brand!
