- Living in a small village close to Warsaw, called Los -Moose in Polish- Maciek started playing basketball during his school years before choosing enduro at 14. Mechanic for rallye cars and right seat in cross country cars came quite quickly, following his father footsteps.
- Maciek's father, Rafal, is a very famous professionnal co-driver on the Dakar roads. He is now 54 and is still active as he did Rallye du Maroc in 2025. Rafal participated in more than 100 rallyes for 25 years now : "We are both co-drivers so we can not make the Dakar in the same car", says Maciek with a little smile.
- One of Maciek's first idols is Miroslav Zapletal, czech legend in rally, who trusted him when he was nobody. He also has good connections with Jean-Louis Schlesser.
