- Multi-times South African champion in enduro, off-road, and moto-x, Bradley Cox, son of Alfie, made his rally raid debut at the 2021 Rallye du Maroc at the age of 23. Finishing 3rd in Rally 2, he instantly became ‘one to watch’.
- The Dakar Rally, however, hasn’t always been kind to him. His 2022 debut was marred by technical problems, while 2023 saw him crash out on the first stage.
- Bradley’s Dakar 2024 didn’t start great either, and at the rest day, he was only 17th overall. However, greater maturity and experience paid dividends, and in the second week, he pulled back to finish 3rd in Rally 2.
- Better yet, he finished 2 stages in the top 5 overall and 3 stages in the top 10, showing he had the pace to run with the Rally GP factory riders.
- Absent from Abu Dhabi, he finished 1st in Rally 2 in Portugal and 2nd on the Ruta 40 in Argentina.
- Coming into the 2024 Rallye du Maroc, second in Rally 2, 8 points behind leader Romain Dumontier, Bradley once again showed his ability to race under pressure by taking the world cup off his French rival, and as the ‘icing on the cake,’ finished 5th overall, ahead of a whole host of Rally GP professionals.
- For Dakar 2025, Cox Junior makes a well-deserved move up to the Rally GP class, knowing that all the team managers will be watching to see how Dakar 2025 pans out before signing up their next crop of riders.
