While his brother Marcos first raced the Dakar back in 2013, Cristian Baumgart only has one Dakar on the scoreboard so far, from when he raced an SSV in 2019 and finished 9th in class. He is however, like his brother, an accomplished off-road competitor who has won the Rally dos Sertoes four times (out of 22 participations) as well as being three times Mitsubishi Cup champion and two times Brazilian Cross Country Vice Champion. As a warm up to their 2024 W2RC campaign, Cristian and his faithful co-driver  Alberto Andreotti finished 7th on the 2023 Sonora Rally, 24th on the Rally dos Sertoes and 19th T1+ on the Rallye du Maroc, all aboard their X Rally Team run Prodrive Hunter, the car his brother will also be driving next January.
