THE 2025 SEASON IN 25 FIGURES

W2RC — OVERALL

392 ǀ THE W2RC SOARS TO UNPRECEDENTED HEIGHTS A whopping 392 competitors raced in at least one of the five W2RC rounds as championship entrants, representing 58 nationalities in the record-breaking 2025 field.

115 ǀ OVER A HUNDRED WINNERS The W2RC marked its 100th special in 2024. One year later, it feted its 100th stage or prologue winner. A total of 115 names are recorded in the annals of the W2RC, 17 of which claimed their maiden victories this season. The latest additions to the list are: - Ultimate: Guy Botterill, Henk Lategan and Saood Variawa - Challenger: Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Corbin Leaverton, Dania Akeel, Gonçalo Guerreiro, Khalifa Al Attiyah and Puck Klaassen - SSV: Alexandre Pinto, Mansour Al Helei and Mário Franco - Rally2: Edgar Canet and Martim Ventura - Rally3: Noa Sainct and Thomas Zoldos - Quads: Gaëtan Martinez

17,047 ǀ ALMOST HALFWAY AROUND THE GLOBE Counting both specials and road sections, the W2RC field covered more than 17,000 kilometres in the course of the five rounds that made up the season. To be exact, the FIA competitors travelled 17,047 kilometres, slightly more than their counterparts on two wheels, a distance equivalent to 42.5% of the circumference of the Earth.

8 ǀ SPOTLIGHT ON AFRICA The South African Safari Rally, an event created specifically for the championship, made South Africa the eighth country to host the W2RC, after Saudi Arabia (Dakar), the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge), Morocco (Rallye du Maroc), Spain (Andalucía Rally / bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal), Mexico (Sonora Rally), Argentina (Desafío Ruta 40) and Portugal (bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal).

FIA — ULTIMATE

34 ǀ THE BRAZILIAN CONNECTION Lucas Moraes, the first driver to topple Nasser Al Attiyah from the Ultimate throne, followed in the footsteps of Ayrton Senna to win a FIA world championship title. The Brazilian legend claimed the Formula One world championship three times (1988, 1990 and 1991), the last one 34 years ago. Moraes is also the first Brazilian to take a W2RC title.

3 ǀ THE THREE MUSKETEERS No-one had ever scooped up victories in all three current FIA classes (Ultimate, Challenger and SSV) before the start of the season. Three men have founded this club: Rokas Baciuška, Eryk Goczał and João Ferreira. They all took the Ultimate victories they still needed to complete the hat-trick.   Three is also the number of victories secured for Ford M-Sport by Nani Roma (2) and Mattias Ekström (1), the manufacturer's first wins in Ultimate.

7 ǀ TRAILBLAZERS Henk Lategan (South African Safari Rally) and Lucas Moraes (bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal) landed South Africa and Brazil their first overall victories in a FIA round. Seven nations have now achieved this feat, with South Africa and Brazil joining Qatar (Nasser Al Attiyah), Chile (Francisco López), France (Guerlain Chicherit and Sébastien Loeb), Saudi Arabia (Yazeed Al Rajhi) and Spain (Carlos Sainz).

4/4 ǀ TOYOTA 4EVER In addition to taking the drivers' championship with Lucas Moraes, Toyota Gazoo Racing W2RC bagged their fourth manufacturers' title and remain undefeated since the inception of the series. Their points tally (463) was a marked improvement on their previous scores in 2022 (163), 2023 (230) and 2024 (227).

13 ǀ DACIA HIT THE GROUND RUNNING The Dacia Sandriders were competing in their first complete season after making their debut at the 2024 Rallye du Maroc. Nasser Al Attiyah and Sébastien Loeb claimed 13 specials in 2025. Since the Qatari had already opened their account last year, the manufacturer boasts a total of 14 special wins. The Sandrider is already the third most successful car in Ultimate, in line with the ambitions of its drivers.

FIA — CHALLENGER

4 ǀ THE FANTASTIC FOUR Dania Akeel and Puck Klaassen grabbed their maiden W2RC victories in the Challenger class. That makes it four women who have stood on top of a stage podium in the championship: the Saudi, the Dutchwoman, the Spaniard Cristina Gutiérrez and the American Sara Price.

1 ǀ POWER COUPLE The Challenger champions, Nicolás Cavigliasso (driver) and Valentina Pertegarini (navigator), became the first couple to win a W2RC title as a joint entry. Pertegarini had already become the first —and, so far, only— female W2RC champion last year.

3 ǀ WELCOME TO THE BROTHERHOOD The 2025 silver medallist, Nasser Al Attiyah, brought his FIA special tally to 49. His brother Khalifa, who broke his duck in Challenger, made it 50 for Qatar. The Al Attiyahs are the first brothers to take the top spot in the FIA classes, but only the third if you count the FIM classes, where Kevin and Luciano Benavides had already pulled it off in RallyGP and Gonçalo and Salvador Amaral in Rally3.

31 ǀ A TAURUS STAMPEDE The Taurus hegemony in Challenger remained unchallenged until stage 4 of the bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal. The manufacturer pocketed as many as 31 out of the 37 specials up for grabs in the class in 2025, extending its W2RC total to 72.

FIA — SSV

19 ǀ PINTO PLEASES PORTUGAL The SSV champion, Alexandre Pinto, broke the record for the most special wins in a single season: 19, three more than the 16 Rokas Baciuška had snapped up in 2023. Together with João Ferreira (13) and Mário Franco (2), his triumphs made Portugal the dominant force in the class, with 34 victories to Poland's 26.

1 ǀ MY WAY Manuel Andújar, who had traded in his quad for an SSV, claimed his first victories in his new class this season. This makes him the first competitor in W2RC history to prevail in both a FIM and a FIA class: he has picked up a record-breaking 32 victories in the quad class and 4 in SSV.

124 ǀ CAN-AM IN A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN Manufacturers with a century of victories in a W2RC class are few and far between. Yamaha had already done it in the quad class and KTM in Rally2. Can-Am joined the club in SSV this season, with an astonishing 124 wins at the end of a dominant season-long performance (27 specials out of 37).

FIM — RALLYGP

16 ǀ TITLE CHARACTER The RallyGP world champion, Daniel Sanders, stamped his authority on the series harder than any of his predecessors, taking 4 rounds out of 5 and 16 specials out of 37. The Australian also smashed the record for the most victories in a single season, previously held jointly by Luciano Benavides (2023) and Tosha Schareina (2024) with 10 apiece. "Chucky" is the class record holder too, with 24 RallyGP specials to his name, ahead of Schareina (19) and Adrien Van Beveren (17).

202 ǀ POINTS GALORE Daniel Sanders went even further. His final score of 133 points demolished the previous record of 100 points, set by Luciano Benavides in 2023. The manufacturers' champion, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, also raised the bar, with 202 points to Monster Energy Honda HRC's 193 last year.

4/4 ǀ RED HOT Despite sustaining their first defeat in the manufacturers' ranking, Monster Energy Honda HRC put on a strong performance, with two riders on the podium (Tosha Schareina, second, and Ricky Brabec, third). They had already placed two men in the top 3 in 2022 and 2024 and one in 2023. Honda is the only marque that has been represented on the podium of each of the four W2RC seasons held to date. This consistency has been rewarded with 63 victories in RallyGP, miles ahead of KTM (35), Hero (20), Husqvarna (12) and GasGas (11).

FIM — RALLY2

20 ǀ YOUTH ON THE RISE Edgar Canet claimed the Rally2 World Cup at the age of 20 years, 7 months and 1 day to become the youngest FIM champion in W2RC history. The former record holder, Mason Klein, was 20 years, 11 months and 25 days old when he grabbed the Rally2 title in 2022.

28 ǀ DOCHERTY ON TOP OF THINGS Third in the championship, Michael Docherty, is the new record holder for the most Rally2 specials won, vaulting past Romain Dumontier (25) and Bradley Cox (23) with 28 victories to his name. This was thanks in no small part to his performance at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, where he became the first Rally2 entrant to complete a clean sweep of a race.

4 ǀ HERO TASTES GLORY Hero MotoSports made a big bet on Tobias Ebster in 2025. The Austrian netted the Indian outfit their first Rally2 win by claiming stage 5 of the South African Safari Rally. This makes it the fourth marque to prevail in this class, following KTM, Husqvarna and Honda.

FIM — RALLY3

10 ǀ MUSICAL CHAIRS Ten different riders have won the ten Rally3 rounds held so far in the W2RC! The newly crowned champion, Thomas Zoldos (2025 bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal), and fellow Frenchman Noa Sainct (2025 Rallye du Maroc) are the latest additions to the list, which already included Amine Echiguer (2022 Rallye du Maroc), Jeremy Miroir (2022 Andalucía Rally), Massimo Camurri (2023 Sonora Rally), Ardit Kurtaj (2023 Desafío Ruta 40), Cheikh-Yves Jacquemain (2023 Rallye du Maroc), Gonçalo Amaral (2024 bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal), John Medina (2024 Desafío Ruta 40) and Souleymane Addahri (2024 Rallye du Maroc).

5 ǀ ALPHA BETA Thanks to Thomas Zoldos, Beta was the fifth motorbike to win a Rally3 special, following in the slipstream of KTM, Husqvarna, Honda and Sherco. Across all categories combined, Beta was the 20th marque to bag a W2RC round.

FIM — QUADS

1-2 ǀ TWO BETTER THAN ONE Gaëtan Martinez led Antanas Kanopkinas in a CFMoto Thunder Racing one-two in the championship —a first in the quad class. It was also the Chinese manufacturer's first W2RC crown. Its tally of 19 special wins puts it second, behind Yamaha (103).
