Nani Roma's victory in today's stage took Dakar statisticians on a trip down memory lane. We need to go all the way back to 2015 to find the last time that we saw the Catalonian triumphant in the Dakar. This brings his tally to 26 in the span of his career —13 on two wheels and 13 on four. In addition to burnishing his own credentials, Roma delivered Ford their first stage win. The Raptor is grappling for the manufacturers' world championship with the Dacia Sandrider and Toyota Hilux in its series debut. The last time that Roma was the top-ranked W2RC entrant in a special was stage 6 of the 2022 Dakar, racing behind the wheel of a BRX Hunter. Mattias Ekström and Mitch Guthrie have also done their bit for the maker from Dearborn since the start in Bisha, and Carlos Sainz is sure to return to feed the Raptor at the remaining four rounds of the series.
