Dakar 2025 | Stage 6 - NO MORE ROOM FOR ERROR FOR BRANCH AND COX

The top two African riders in the Dakar, both reigning W2RC champions, were knocked out of the rally in the first part of stage 6. The South African Bradley Cox took a tumble 100 metres into the special, leaving him with a big, fat zero in his debut appearance in Rally GP, following his triumph in Rally 2. Ross Branch, the Rally GP no. 1, also had an inauspicious start to his title defence campaign as he crashed out of the race at km 48. While the Hero from Botswana can still bag 100 points between now and the season finale at the Rallye du Maroc, he faces extremely long odds: never before has a (FIM or FIA) competitor gone on to win the W2RC after leaving the Dakar empty-handed.
