- Martin Prokop a débuté en rallye en 2005, avec le Monte-Carlo. Il a remporté le titre Junior WRC en 2009. Il compte près de 150 apparitions dans ce championnat du monde.
- Le natif de Jihlava en République Tchèque s’est également initié au cross-country avant de se lancer en 2016 sur le Dakar. Il s’y est classé 14e et deuxième meilleur rookie.
- Martin est un modèle de régularité. Il a terminé le Dakar à chacune de ses neuf participations, et toujours dans le Top 25. Il est entré dans le Top 10 à cinq reprises et a même concrétisé un rêve de longue date en 2024 en figurant pour la première dans le Top 5.
- Martin dispose de sa propre équipe privée (MP-Sports) chargée de préparer son Ford Raptor, affectueusement surnommé « Shrek ». Il a baptisé « Fiona » la voiture avec laquelle il court en WRC.
- Martin possède également un excellent palmarès à l'Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, épreuve qu’il a terminée à trois reprises en deuxième position (2017, 2022, 2023).
