- Édouard Boulanger is an accomplished athlete in all disciplines. Before shining in the deserts, the Frenchman excelled in the water, winning seven French rowing championships in his youth, as well as on the roads, excelling in various triathlons and qualifying for the 2018 Ironman World Championships. His Dakar story dates back to 2012, the year he first competed on a motorbike, although he did not finish.
- Formerly a navigation specialist, he became a skilled map man for the KTM and Toyota teams. This career path quickly led him to become a co-driver, first with Australian Geoff Olholm in 2014, then with Stéphane Peterhansel at Mini, when they won the Dakar Rally on their first attempt together in 2021. The two former bikers continued to work together at Audi, but with less success.
- After the German carmaker withdrew, Édouard was chosen by Nasser Al Attiyah for the 2024 season. The duo, who remained together until mid-2025, won three times and the W2RC world championship title. The Frenchman now works with Sébastien Loeb. The two have only ever finished on the podium, including the top step in Morocco. They will attempt to repeat this feat on the Dakar.
- An experienced engineer, perfectionist, and passionate about science and competition, Édouard co-founded Respire Performance. He designs tailor-made programmes for athletes from diverse backgrounds, primarily in motorsports and outdoor sports. From physical preparation to nutrition, mental recovery, and energy in the broadest sense, the Frenchman leaves nothing to chance when it comes to his clients or his own career, as confirmed by his new status as a two-time W2RC champion navigator.
